Update!

Hello, everyone! Wanted to update you all on Aidan! He is doing good, we got all the bloodwork back from last week, and good news it is all normal. Bad news, we had more testing. Aidan is sick of all the poking and prodding, but he is hangin' in there. He had another 25mls of blood drawn today, and Docker (aka Dr.) Amy said that if this all comes back okay, then off to Egleston we go. Dr. Amy is a great doctor, but said if this is all normal then we need to go for genetic testing, for possible genetic diseases. :( At this point we would definitely like an answer. We just want to know what is causing these fevers, and all the other many symptoms we have. He is so pitiful when he is in pain, and right now we haven't a clue what is causing all the pain! So keep praying! And I will keep you all updated. We will be seeing a neurologist in the next few weeks, b/c we think he is having seizures as well! YUCK!! But, I will keep you posted!!

Lotts of Prayers

Well, my kids and I spent the afternoon at the doctors office. Aidan has been running a fever consistently for 3 weeks. This is not the first time that this has happened. Aidan is a little over 2 1/2 years old, and Dr. Amy looked back and saw that we have been seen 5 times in 2.5 years for fever of unknown origin. Usually they just tell us it is viral and it will go away. But, not this time. This time my doctor is concerned. In 2.5 years Aidan has had 5 trips for these fevers that last several weeks at a time, he has also been seen for poor weight gain and failure to thrive, sweating profusely, and diarrhea for 2.5 years. Well, all those things combined have her worried. She decided to run blood work today. She is checking for cancer mostly. juvenile diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, mono, etc. She said a lot of times cancer will have these different symptoms for awhile and then between ages 2-5 cancer will actually start rearing it's ugly head. She did say that his lymph nodes were not swollen which is positive. A lot of times with cancer in children they will have swollen lymph nodes. So, I thought that was a good thing at least. I have a great pediatrician, so I know she will figure out what the problem is. She said we will find the answer, something is causing these symptoms for the past 2 years. On a happy note, he doesn't act sick. Even with temps as high as 105, he acts like he feels fine. 2 nights ago he did have such a high fever that it caused him to have hallucinations, he thought there were snakes in my bed biting us. He thought that they were attacking him. He actually got out of the bed and tried to get the snakes out of the bed. It definitely freaked us out. But, Dr. Amy said that can happen with high temperatures. Anyway, just pray for Aidan. Pray that we find an answer to these symptoms, and that Aidan gets some relief.
So, I haven't introduced you to our whole family! We have 2 children and 3 DOGS! Very large dogs! We have Maddie, she is a rottweiler/doberman/Heinz 57 mix. She is our anti-social dog. I acquired Maddie when I was in college at Auburn University! She was our guard dog! HaHa! Anyway, she was our first dog. She is very sweet, the only one that I could leave in the house for 24 hours, that would not have an accident! She is great! This dog will hold her bladder forever! However, she doesn't listen at all! But, only because I never made her listen in college. "You can't teach an old dog new tricks," remember?
Next, is Thor! The kiddos lovingly refer to him as "Fo". Fo is actually Emory's dog. I bought him for Emory as a Christmas gift. I really bought him for me, but passed it off as a gift for Em, so that I could get him. Emory actually said not to get him one! But, anyway....Fo is great. He is a boxer, and he is really the best family dog you could have. He is great with our kids, they can ride him, jump on him, sit on him, whatever they want and he will just sit there! He is so good! Emory trained him, so he can sit, shake, lay, play dumb (oh wait, he is dumb!). Anyway, overall he is probably the best dog we have! Although, I don't like to admit that to Emory! He really is a funny dog, very entertaining. We give him his own special voice, and he talks to us all the time! :) Yes, I am a big animal lover, I talk to my pets and for my pets!!

Okay, last but not least, Riley! AKA....Rufus! Riley is our newest pup. She is a Great Dane. We got her about a year ago. She is a maniac. We got a great dane, b/c they are known for being so laid back and sweet. Riley is not! She is a wild horse. She is so rotten! I absolutely adore her, she is my dog. I wanted a dog that would love me as much as Thor loves Em. Maddie is anti-social, remember. She loves her home, not her owner! :( But, Riley loves me! I mean really loves me! We got her when she was only 8 weeks old! I picked her up from the breeder in Dothan, Alabama and rode all they way home with her in my lap! We bonded. She wants to stand by me, kiss me, lick me, jump on me all the time! Most of the time I love it, but sometimes it becomes a little much to have a 120 lb dog sitting on top of you! She grew very quickly! She is not as tolerant of the kiddos, but she is never mean to them! She doesn't want to be climbed on, and she makes that known! But, the kids love her. She has a tail that could knock over an elephant, I sware! She is strong! Anyway, she is a great pup, just a little crazy!!

Explosive Volcanic Eruptions

Okay! Had to share this too! This is Aidan's favorite song! :) Just wait until you guys have 2 year olds!

Shark vs Octopus

Okay! I have another exciting video for you guys! I'm telling you, it is so hot outside I have to entertain my children with National Geographic videos! I am learning so much! We didn't have cable all summer, b/c we didn't want the kids in front of cartoons all day everyday, so now we just watch national geographic on the internet! Hey, at least it's educational. Anyway, our newest finding is an octupus eating a shark! It's really cool! Aidan and Mina love it ! I believe we have already seen it 50 times! SO, take a look for yourself, I think you'll find it's pretty cool!

Mina and The whale

This is Mina's description of Jonah in the Whale. This is what she was telling me about after Sunday School this morning. She is definitely less animated in the video, than she was on the way home today!

AIDAN

I just wanted to practice uploading home videos, so I thought I might start with this silly video that Emory created tonight! Thought everyone might get a kick outta my little booger! He is so funny sometimes! Gotta love that Indian dance, he learned that move at the Indian festival back in the spring! He does it constantly! Anyway, hope it gives you a laugh, it did me!
