School is just around the corner...
I can't believe that summer is almost over. My oldest is about to start First Grade. :( So sad! She has grown up much too fast. My 2 boys will be starting Pre-K, so I will only have the baby! Whatever will I do with all that time. I am sure that Carlos and I will figure it out! We have just started our back to school shopping and we started it with Mina's cute new bookbag and lunch box! Isn't it cute!!

A boy (or 2) and his dog!!
Random!!!
I know this is random, but my last post made me think of my favorite poem when I was little!!!
Sick
I cannot go to school today,"
Said little Peggy Ann McKay.
"I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash and purple bumps.
My mouth is wet, my throat is dry,
I'm going blind in my right eye.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I've counted sixteen chicken pox
And there's one more--that's seventeen,
And don't you think my face looks green?
My leg is cut--my eyes are blue--
It might be instamatic flu.
I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,
I'm sure that my left leg is broke--
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button's caving in,
My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained,
My 'pendix pains each time it rains.
My nose is cold, my toes are numb.
I have a sliver in my thumb.
My neck is stiff, my voice is weak,
I hardly whisper when I speak.
My tongue is filling up my mouth,
I think my hair is falling out.
My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight,
My temperature is one-o-eight.
My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,
There is a hole inside my ear.
I have a hangnail, and my heart is--what?
What's that? What's that you say?
You say today is. . .Saturday?
G'bye, I'm going out to play!"

One of those days...
Today has definitely been one of those days. I woke up knowing to day was not my day...I probably should have stayed in bed. I have yet another sinus infection...yes this is #4 in 6 weeks. No, they are not continuous, the steroids actually knock it out, but only temporarily. Then it comes back with a vengeance. I knew it was coming back, but not this bad, I feel awful. The whole 9 yards, stuffy nose, runny eyes, sinus headache, sneezing uncontrollable, and the dreaded green snot. Sorry, probably too much info, but the doctor always wants to know if I have that. Yes, I do. I started myself on steroids once again, and another round of antibiotics. Maybe I'll really kick it this time. I hope so!
So, my day continues...i have to take Mina and Aidan to the dentist, Aidan's enamel is literally peeling off, and Mina's new teeth are coming in funky. Turns out I was just overly paranoid, Mina's teeth are fine, they will straighten out, and Aidan just needs MORE MILK? Seriously, more milk? He drinks 48 oz daily, way more than he is suppose to. So, more milk and change his toothpaste! We will now be using, Pro Enamel for children in our home. Afterall, That is what the dentist recommends!!
Then, we head back home for lunch and naptime. Naptime is my very favorite part when I feel like crap, however, Aidan and Michel did not think that naptime was in order, they literally bounced around their rooms for 3 hours, making my migraine that much worse! Thanks boys!
I also woke up to Winston poop in my dining room. Are you kidding me? Any other day, and I would have been fine. But, it had to be today! UGGGHHHH!!
WEll, that is the end of my griping I guess, I have other happy posts I need to be typing out! That have cute pics to go along with them! :)

My new find...
I am so excited. I have found some super cute furniture over the course of the past week. We have been redoing all of the kiddos rooms. I sold a dresser out of C's room, and moved Aidan's old changing table (out of his room) into C's room. So, I needed a new chest of drawers for Aidan and Michel. We were instructed by Aidan's neurologist to take the bunkbeds down, b/c it is too dangerous for him to be on top, and Michel has no interest in sleeping on top! So, we had to rearrange to accomodate 2 twin beds! We bought the cutest chest of drawers to go in their room, I love it! IT's perfect for them, especially when they say which drawer holds pj's, which drawer is play clothes! You 'll see what I mean at the bottom! It looks good, still a work in progress, but we are getting there. I am ordering 2 large portraits of the boys, 1 of each to go over their beds, then we will paint, not sure which color, yet! Still trying to decide.
C's room is practically done, unless we add the new baby to the room, which would require a 2nd crib, we'll see! I might also repaint the changing table, but it's huge and that is for sure last on the list! HA!
Mina's room has been a work in progress for like 3 years. We moved her downstairs last year and we have slowly transformed her room into a beautiful little girls room. Like the boys, I am ordering a large portrait of herself to hang on the large wall right when you walk in! We just bought her a new piece of furniture from the fabulous place that inspired this post, it is an antique wardrobe! It is precious and totally completes her room! I also had a little chair and table for Mina to create her art projects that she looooves so much...and I had it painted by the same lady that did the wardrobe. I have also thought about having someone paint her name or monogram above the windows in her room, but when we add drapes it might cover it up! I don't know, just a thought! Her room is the closest to completion though! Which makes me so happy!!
THen comes the bathrooms! WE will probably start with Mina's. Hers is much smaller, but she doesn't have to share! I have no idea what to do in there, but it also needs to be painted, and then we need all new bath accessories!!
The boys bathrooms is in need of a serious makeover, from top to bottom, that is all I need to say there!
Anyway, I guess that is it for the moment, check out the 3 new pieces I bought or had done (table and chair) from www.rethunkjunk.blogspot.com. Her name is Laura, she is great, reasonably prices, and super fun to work with! She can create new stuff out of your old furniture, too!!

Her Two Front Teeth...
I can't believe I haven't gotten this up here yet, Mina lost her two front bottom teeth. The 1st one came out 2 weeks ago, in the Kohl's dressing room. It was quite the production. I looked down, and noticed the new tooth already coming in behind the baby tooth. So, I pulled it. It was plenty loose enough, but still hurt as you can imagine. The 2nd tooth, came out on Sunday, she came out of her room at 10pm and said, "Mommy, I pulled my tooth, I really need more money for the new doll I want." So, I gently informed her that the tooth fairy doesn't work on Sunday's as it's the day of rest, and that she would be back to her regualr schedule by Monday night. First thing Monday, I got some cash so I would be prepared. This time I made myself a little stash, so the next time I'll be ready!
Here's a cute pic of her toothless smile!!

As quickly as he came, HE'S GONE!
Hallelujah!!! Cap'n Jack (as Aidan so lovingly refers to him) has found himself a permanent home. I really thought I was "Mom of the Year" for letting him have this THING. I thought I could handle it, and it turns out he freaked me out too much. If Em was home more and could've taken more of the responsibility, it may have not been so bad. But, I was the one home with him, I was the one feeding him worms, and crickets. Everytime I opened the worm jar, I screamed. It wasn't even him, as much as it was the food he required. I don't do creepy, crawly bugs...I just don't. They freak me out.
SO, long story short, I listed him on Craigslist, and he found an excellent home right around the corner. I gave him to a teenage boy, who has lots of experience with reptiles!

Cap'n Jack (that's how Aidan says the bearded dragons name!!)
So, we haven't killed the lizard yet! I must admit that he is not as interesting as I once thought. In fact, he flat out scares me! I jump at every move he makes.
Yesterday, Emory decided to give him a little break from his cage, so he brought him outside in the driveway, where the kids and I were playing. Emory and I were sitting in lawn chairs about an arms length away. Jack was perched up on Emory's shoulder, looking very pretty darn comfy. So, I start telling Emory a story, and that lizard jumped around too face me. I was flattered at first... I said "He likes me!" Well, I continued to talk and he continued to like me, so much in fact that he leapt through the air, arms out in front, tail flailing trying to reach my shoulder. He did not make it, in fact, he landed flat on the concrete. He rushed straight into the bushes and Emory had to chase him out. We almost lost the lizard on day 3 of having him. Aidan was screaming, you lost my lizard, my poor lizard! I was screaming for a different reason...I can't believe that he almost jumped onto my shoulder.
I am totally freaked out by this thing now. You never know where he's gonna move next. YUCK!!!

From the mouth of babes...

I have decided that my kids are hilarious and I am going to document all the funny little things that they say. Most of the time, they have no idea that what they are saying is funny, which makes it all the better.
Mina- I was telling the kids about all the different things that we would be seeing at the Creation Museum, and I mentioned that we would be seeing a "Zorse". The kids asked me what a "Zorse" was, and I replied " A mommy horse and a daddy zebra asked the stork to deliver them a baby, one that looked just like both of them. SO the stork brought them a baby that was 1/2 horse and 1/2 zebra." Mina said "SO, IT'S BI-RACIAL LIKE ME?" I said, "Yes, it's bi-racial like you!" Too funny!!
Aidan has a long list of recent funny comments, he is our resident comedian! Where to start...

1. "Mommy, remember when I took my toofbrush outside last week?" "Yes, Aidan." "Wanna know why I took it outside?" "Probably not." "I brushed my lizards teef, cause his breaf smells bad. Don't worry though, I let him keep that toofbrush cause I have two." "Great Aidan! That was very thoughtful." "I know."
2. Aidan said the blessing "Dear Jesus, THank you for the bugs, the lizards and the caterpillars, I love bugs. Please save that lizard that I killed last week...oh, and I am sorry I killed him...please forgive me for flushing that caterpillar down the toilet...Michel said they like to swim...PLease bless my food..I love you Jesus. Amen!
3. "Guess what mommy? You're not gonna like it! I kissed a frog on his lips today!"
4. I told the kids that I wasn't feeling well...Aidan's response "Do you need me to sleep in your bed tonight, so I can tect (protect) you. Daddy won't tect you like I can...I'm like batman, mommy. I can tect you the best!"
5. "this baby is gonna give me a heart attack, seriously MOMMY, if he tries to climb these stairs again...I will have a heart attack."
6. Dear Jesus, Please help me to behave myself tomorrow, and help my mom not get mad at me, and let her give me extra snacks. I love you Jesus. Aidan' prayer tonight- so sweet.
7. Aidan is watching cartoons and a commercial for Shout came on, he said "Mommy, you need that stuff, that cleans all the stains out of kids clothes, and we have a lot of stains, don't we mommy? That way we can get real dirty and you don't have to get mad, you can just Shout at the stain."
Just a few of their funny little sayings!!!

The Creation Museum
We spent out 4th of July in Kentucky to take the kiddos to visit the Creation Museum. Most people have never heard of it. That's because it is pretty new. It is a museum dedicated to proving that we were created by an AMAZING GOD, with a purpose and a plan. That our Creator loves us, and that everything He created is for us. It was incredible. I learned alot. The museum had tons of dinosaur exhibits, and information on when they existed and also when they died out. They did not exist millions of years ago, which I already knew. It is believed that after the flood, the dinosaurs that were on the Ark died because the trees that they ate never grew back as plentiful as before. Essentially, they starved to death. Very interesting, I honestly didn't know dinosaurs were on the Ark. I guess I had never really thought about it. We saw a replica of 1% of the size of the Ark. It was massive and it was only 1% of the actual size. The grounds were amazing, it was so beautiful, it looked like what I imagine the Garden of Eden looking like. It was amazing, beautiful flowers and plants, waterfalls, etc. Gorgeous.
We also visited the Planetarium. I think this exhibit was my favorite. I had no idea what is beyond our solar system. It's truly amazing, our galaxy the Milky Way, is one of millions of galaxies. That is awesome, but also unimaginable for me. God created this whole universe, with a Divine Plan. Who could think that we just were accidents, how oculd you think we evolved from monkeys. Not possible!
Anyway, here are some pics from our trip! Hope you enjoy!!

Our new addition...
No, we did not obtain another kid! HA! We have been looking at bearded dragons for Aidan and Michel for over a year now, so we finally took the plunge and got one. We found one on Craigslist that was free, he is 1 year old and came with everything except fresh carrots and collards!
We spent the 4th of July weekend in Florence, Kentucky, where we visited the Creation Museum. We spent 2 days there and loved it. The museum is awesome, we learned so much about our Creation and God's Divine Plan. We were not accidents and we did not evolve from monkeys. It was awesome, we saw exhibits from dinosaurs and reptiles to exhibits of our solar system and all about space. Which I must admit, the planetarium was my favorite thing. It was incredible.
Anyway, we saw an exhibit called "Snakes Alive" while we were there. It was a presentor talking about how God created everything, EVEN snakes. He talked about how God the artist probably originally painted these snakes beautiful colors for looks, but after Adam sinned and animals began to eat each other, they needed a way to defend themselves and their colors do that. Accident, I think NOT! He brought many snakes and a bearded dragon. After the exhibit, we were able to learn more about the bearded dragon and hold him a bit. I even held him. To my surprise he is soft, he looks like he is sharp, but that's just his defense. So, we decided that maybe we could actually get one, since we had been stalling for over a year now. We found one on Craigslist, and were able to get him and his whole set for FREE!! Gotta love that!
So, here is a picture or two of our newest THING!! He is really cool to watch, very interesting. However, I thought I wouldn't be afraid of him, and I am . I am terrified to stick my hand in there, but maybe I'll get better, the boys love him and that was the goal!!
