Starting Over....

So, it's been awhile since my last post. Well in the past 8 weeks or so, we feel like God has given us the opportunity to start over. It's really awesome actually. Scary, very scary, but awesome. We have joined a new church where God is moving mightily, and we have met so many new friends through different ministries that we have become involved in. When Emory and I first started this new journey ONLY 8 weeks ago, we had no idea what God had in store for us....but we are actually starting to get a glimpse of the first corner of the VERY large picture. God does things in such a different way than we would ever expect, and it is terrifying at first, but once you sit back and trust Him he does incredible things in and through you. It has taken me a while to sit back and relax, but I finally did. So here are the awesome things that God is doing...

The first Sunday that we attended our new church we saw a video of the First Lady of Georgia, talking about the foster care crisis in Georgia and in the nation. She was talking about an opportunity to serve as foster parents through a CHRISTIAN agency that works with DFCS. Emory and I had no idea that we were about to get knee deep in foster care. Anyway, we attended an orientation, and God really lit our hearts on fire about this ministry, so then we attended 20 hours of impact training, and then we completed 8 hours of paperwork and homestudy info, and now we are completing our homestudy. We will be approved foster parents as of next week. We have discussed many different opportunities with this agency on ways that we can best serve them and these children. Emory and I are really praying through these options to make sure that we stay in the center of God's will and serve exactly where He wants us. But we are pumped. I will keep you all posted on when we will get our first child. We have already prepared a nursery, and set-up the crib and changing table. We also painted the nursery a sage green color. We are not sure what age we are going to get, but it will probably be an infant. Soooo, I will keep you posted.

Also, Emory took a temporary job working with a demolition company. So, lots of hard work!
I got insurance through my work, Praise God.
The kiddos were approved for Peachcare! Praise God.
THings are really going well!
